My Experience with the 4 I's

Do you have any experience with Transformational Leadership?

Let me know below!

Leadership Philosophy

Why should you create a Leadership Philosophy?

As Louis Carter states, "it is key to successfully running a team, organization or business."

A strong Leadership Philosophy can help you make decisions, guide you through the Valleys and keep you focused at the Peak.  Your Philosophy can help you tackle difficult situations as you create awareness around your values to see the values of the people you are leading. This guiding document can  help you maintain your cool.

The 1st task/question you need to complete is,

    Why do you Lead?

Some people lead to help others reach their full potential, while others lead to create a supportive, positive environment. Take a moment and answer the question above.

2nd task to creating a Philosophy is,

    Determine your Values

Your Values will determine what you want to do and how you want to behave.

For example, a leader who values Creativity and Innovation may strive to develop new routines to keep employees engaged and challenged.  Take a moment to list your core values to you.

3rd task,

    Write a simple Leadership Philosophy.

Your philosophy does not need to be perfect. This is a working document that you can build on over the next few weeks.

For example, My purpose to lead is to ________ and I will achieve this by valuing _______, _______, and __________.

Check out this Video for a deeper understanding.

Here is my Leadership Philosophy

My purpose for being a leader is to aim at developing individuals to be able to work to their full potential while guiding them through many training opportunities to grow in their uniqueness.  I will take the time to sit and develop my employees as they are a reflection of me to the staff.  I will make purposeful intent to positively help my peers in growth and development and respectfully aid in answering their questions as well. And I will continue to take opportunities for self-reflection and growth.

I encourage you to create your own unique Philosophy that will help you in Leading others which will aid in positive environments and decision making.

I look forward to reading your Philosophy below!

Leadership old vs new

“The traditional model of leader-hero who saves the day, knows it all, is the smartest person in the room, and is too often driven by power, fame, glory, or money is not appropriate in today’s environment. People today expect a different kind of leader.” Joly Hubert
